Ill definitely stay away from trucks and their brands for now, but I want at least mid quality. I want to build a set that will excel for at least a year under pro use, and I'll get to use as a backup/road set later on. Only thing is that I do see myself transitioning to Snap-on in the future, but Ill only have my student discount for 6-10 more months.
Grey pneumatic duo socket sets look like a definite. Save money from chromes and space when it becomes part of a road set. Theres a few places that have an extra dollar off, but tooltopia I know warranties them no problem. Weird but Sears has the exact same prices on them, except for the 1/2 in. metric sets. Should I go through Sears instead of tooltopia? Both free shipping but I figure Sears might be around longer to enact the warranty.

Just 1/4 and 3/8 - 288$; with 1/2" 954$ Total.
This is standard and deep, metric and sae, duo socket means it works for impact tools and is as thin as chrome sockets - works for hand ratchets in tight areas too. 4-36mm, only missing 31mm.
