I need a set that includes the basics like sockets, extensions, oil filter sockets, drill, and other basic things.

Im not spending extra money on SnapOn, but i dont want cheap stuff either, since this is for my job.

Any recommendations?

Piece it together yourself is almost always the consensus here. Different companies make different things really well and pretty cheap but very few do everything well. The big starter sets usually have a ton of stuff you don't need to fill the piece count.

For sockets, wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, etc.? Tekton. Visit their website and go nuts. Good quality, good value and excellent customer service.
