Hey everyone.
I was going to pour a 16" wide footer 8" thick. Im obviously going to rebar the footer, but do I need to rebar "up" if i'm putting 7 courses of block? Its only one story, but it will be 12' tall when completed. Any advice would be appreciated!!!!1

I would check with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction). Your building code department will tell you what is required in your city / County. If your area doesn't require you pull a building permit, then maybe they would still be able to provide some guidance. The types of footers and foundations you will find on this group very widely depending on the location, weather, soil, snow load, freeze / thaw, rain, etc.

yes, something got hold the block to the footer, every four feet

note: think about this, place two extra course on top of slab, that give you a little extra height for a lift and if you decide to wash out the shop, the water would not hurt the two courses
