Starting from square 1 in Austin TX

Hey guys,

I've been on this forum for a while and finally able to get serious about building a shop. We're in Dripping Springs right outside of Austin. It's pretty overwhelming but with the amount of information and knowledge on this forum I'm hoping it won't be too bad.

We will live about 10 miles away from the shop, which I'm hoping will be more like a barnduminium with livable space in it. Unfortunately it isn't a huge lot; but the neighborhood has very little restrictions so I'm keeping optimistic there will be enough room. Most of it will be Automotive use with a little bit of woodworking.

I'm 12 miles up the road from Dripping Springs in Bee Cave. There are a couple of members here from Drippin' and a guy out in Spicewood. The home depot in dripping springs has a good mgr. Good luck! let me know if you want a sounding board or whatever.

Welcome from down the road in Brenham. Just finished my shop a couple months ago, and am wrapping up my wife's horse barn. Learned a LOT from this forum! And still do...

Dobber, the lot is off Hamilton pool road not far from bee caves. Have you built out there?

I've heard Travis county can be a bear to work with.
