Hi folks. I'm planning to do epoxy in the next couple of weeks. I already did a detached garage last year so I'm confident in my abilities. I used (and will use again) acid etching, Legacy primer and Epoxy-coat epoxy.

My question is how to handle this:

The in-floor storm shelter shown has rough concrete where as everywhere else is smooth.

What steps should I take to make sure I get good adhesion around the storm shelter? Tips/advice/concerns please...

Thanks
Cory

Probably want to honor that joint.
You can actually sand the metal lid and solvent wipe, then epoxy like the floor.
Grind the new concrete with angle grinder and diamond-cup wheel so it is closer in texture to floor.

Good luck and thank you!
