Just starting to grind my garage floor with a Dewalt . Keeping control of that grinder is a task. I've already cut a few gouges.

Maybe you should be using a Diamabrush with a big floor buffer machine. It would probably make the job go quicker and there would be less chance of gouging the concrete.
Jaguar,The bail handle looks like it will help. I'll try to get it tomorrow.
I'm using a 7" DeWalt D28474W, 8000 rpm, 15 amp, 4 HP (max) handheld grinder.
How do I prevent the diamond grinding cup from "polishing" the concrete? I know I'm supposed to end up with something similar to 80 to 120 grit sandpaper, but I'm ending up with a surface that is not close to that coarse.
Question on shop-vac: I'm using filter bags. For some reason, the bags I'm using seem to tear after a relatively short time. I put some duct tape around the bottom end of the housing where stock filter goes (it is a but sharp and poked a hole in the first filter bag). Is this a common problem?
Where can I purchase a Diamabrush? Home Depot? Lowes? Concrete specialty ?
Home Depot carries them.
If you cant find it locally we ... can generally ship same day
I had to modify my dust shroud. I had the same problem. I was able to remove the part of the vac tube inside the shroud to clear the Dimabrush.
My shroud was a semi-rigid plastic so I took my air saw and cut off the inside ****** that was in the way.
