Steamer

My wife left the steamer plugged in. it s commercial unit to take wrinkles out of clothes. She plugged it in, forgot about it and who know how long its been on a day or 2?

So I walk into the home office where it is stored and I feel heat radiating off the unit. See its plugged in and on. I turned it off and it cooled down.

Anyone know of a timer that shuts off after 30 min I can plus the unit into to prevent this?

Belkin makes a "Conserve Socket" model F7C009 that is selectable 30 minutes, 3 hours, or 6 hours. I've never used it, so can't vouch for it. Most of the "appliance" timers I've seen aren't up to the task, but this claims to be designed for "space heaters, coffee makers, curling irons, etc..." Belkin's specs say it's rated at 15A/1800W continuous.

It's only $10 on Amazon or direct from Belkin. Cheap insurance, if it works as advertised.

Glad to help. Once you have used them for a while, let everyone know how they do. One thing to watch for is do they get hot while in use? They shouldn't, but I've seen cheap time of day type timers that melted around the outlet connections when used with a heavy load like a coffee pot.
