Hi All,
Im building a 40x60 worhshop and trying to figure out the best route to take with windows. the supplier priced out 36" wide man doors at $1200 each - wow, I assume the window prices will be just as high.

I've seen in a few build threads here people go to the local big box store and buy standard size vinyl windows then J Frame around them and conceal with PVC trim. And a few others go with special made windows for metal panels like Wintech.

Any advice and suggestions from past experiences? Cost is obviously a factor but I dont want to be penny wise and dollar foolish leading me to deal with leaks and issues later on.

Thanks!

The door you were quoted has special jambs to fit over the girts so it is a direct fit. You can frame an opening and use any pre hung door and trim it with J trim.
