I just finished putting up all the red iron superstructure on my building. It is 36x56 (2016 sf) with 16.5 high walls. Ive decided to have the rest of the building professionally completed. I have a few estimates and they are in the 9000 range. This includes sheeting the walls and roof and and installing my 3in insulation. In addition they are going to do all the trim and install the gutters. It doesn't sound out of line to me. It looks like a bunch of work. I simply don't have the time or manpower to do this portion of the job. What do you guys think?

Get a few more bids.. The price might come down..
As in go back to the guy you think will do the best job and say can you come close to X bidder and the job is yours....Might save you some money

Seems high to me but that may be because they didn't get the easy part. The red iron is where the money is. For our crew the red iron would have been two days of easy money.

In my thinking its not an ideal place to be. You hire a crew to sheet it, insulate it, etc.

Now you have a problem (lets say a leak)....who do you go back to? The guys who sheeted it might try to blame the guys who put up the frame and didn't have it setup so the sheets all lapped correctly. Could be a trim part which is damaged or made wrong....

Its a hypothetical and there's no way out of it now, but I would sign a basic contract with them outlining cost, timing, who is responsible for what.
