I'm looking for recommendations. I have this list of suppliers. Anyone have any experience with one or more or all of them?

General Steel
Buck Steel
Inland
Ironbuilt
AmeriSteel

I have quotes form a few of these and waiting on the rest. Just wanted to get some feedback before I pull the trigger.

I am planning a 40x60 for a garage/shop/bar/jam/entertainment/man-cave.
Thanks all!

General steel is a broker. Have heard nothing good about Buck. No idea who the other ones are. Good chance they are brokers also. Brokers don't actually make anything they just resell from some other supplier. Have you contacted any local metal building suppliers? I can usually meet or beat any internet prices. When you compare prices compare weight.

I would hope you have produced some kind of plans to distribute for the quotes. Outline doors, windows, insulation, interior clearance requirements, roof overhangs if desired, gutters and any other special requirements.

If there are permitting requirements you should be starting with a set of permit plans and have the building quoted from the plans. I would really encourage you to talk to a local builder. They will have insights to local practices and probably save you some missteps.
