Steel buildings for garage!

Hi,
There is a small plot near my home. I bought it so that I could use it as my garage. There is an old building there which is in a dilapidated condition.

I have been told that instead of breaking the whole structure it would be better to use pre-engineered steel building. I read online that it is cheaper and saves a lot of time for construction. And it is also more durable.

I would like to know about its maintenance and the average cost of constructing it? Has anyone used steel building for garages?

seems to depend on where you are. so put your location in your signature. up my way it was more expensive then using stick built as I was doing all the labor either way. If you are planning to pay someone to build either then steel could be cheaper.
