My front door on my house is a steel door from Lowes and its been here for 20 years. There are no windows in it and the outside steel on the door has separated on the hinge side. I don't know if its just shrunk up because of the cold weather or its just showing its age.
When closing the door the steel panel sticks out preventing the door from closing. Anybody have any suggestions or knowledge with these doors?

Sounds like it's time for a new door! Get an energystar and you might be allowed to claim it as an energy saving purchase on next years energy credit tax.

A lot of those doors have a wood frame with steel skins. The wood edges will soak up moisture over the years unless protected by paint. The wood edges let the door be hung with conventional hinges/tools/locksets where an all steel commercial steel fireproof door has to have steel frame and heavy duty hinges. I have a wood frame steel skin door that has done that also, just have not gotten around to replacing it yet.
