Steel or metal pegboard?

Anyone know a good source for steel pegboard? I'd like to get some for a wall-mounted S-O cabinet I bought used. I'm going to switch out the peg board it came with and use my own configuration. I guess I could use just cheapo pegboard. Or some poly-synthetic but I don't really know much about it.

I've got a few of these X2 stainless steel pegboards from sam's club. Very nice, but pricey.

I'm going with wood, painted red! And various hooks (which I've yet to find) to hold the tools. Mainly wrenches, screwdrivers, allen t-handles, a few mallets and hammers, etc.

That project has never been completed, so now I'm on the hunt for steel pegboard again. Maybe the galvanized stuff is the least expensive option. Sam's Club certainly seems to have some good prices on galvanized panels. Stainless and alum. more expensive of course!

I use metal pegboard made by Wall Control - www.wallcontrol.com - I love it. It's powdercoated steel - I can post some pics later.

You might try your local walmart. Mine has a decent selection of what appears to be good quality steel pegboard that I think says it was powder coated. Its black in color and you can buy a hook kit that has all kinds of tool organizers/hooks. IIRC it was about $20-25 for a 2'x4' section. It is in the garage/tool section. When I am ready for peg board I was going to head there to take another look at it. Have to get my drywall finished and painted first.

I own several of those pegboards. They are good quality, but ridiculously overpriced for your square footage. Unless one only needs a very small pegboard, you are money ahead to go with the ControlWall or the X2 pegboard. Just my $0.02
