Steps from house to garage?

I have a 33" step down from my home to my garage.
I figured it would take 5 steps, however 5 steps would go from back of the garage to the front 55" and that would take up parking space. What should I do, a landing and steps to the side? Any ideas are appreciated.
If I do build a landing should I use 2x8's?

Thanks Guys!

Chris, if you wanted to push your step height to 8 1/4 inches you could do this with three steps using about 31 inches of space into your garage. If you don't feel comfortable with that then you would have to go with four steps at just under 6 5/8 inches, this would move out to about 41 inches. If you go with a platform, it will need to be at least 36 inches out and use alot of material. Still an option.

I would build a landing and run the steps against the wall.

The easiest would be for contractors to either build bigger garages to allow for steps, or make the house garage levels only about one step difference. and not four or five steps different.
