Stereo shelf ideas?

Have an old Denon stereo that used to be my home theater receiver that I now use for tunes in the garage. Need it off of my workbench. Anyone have any nice shelf ideas I could use for it to get it up on the wall?

two shelf supports and a piece of plywood, put it someplace you can hit it with the remote from most of the places you're going to stand. Try also to keep your speaker wires pretty close to the same lengths if you can.

The length of the speaker wire is irrelevant. The distance of the speakers from your ears is what matters for time alignment.

In a shop environment, you'll just want them to span the area equally and try to prevent the space from interacting too negatively with the sound, but in a shop it'll be obvious pretty much immediately.

There's no point aiming for a sweet spot.

As for mounting the receiver, just buy whatever shelf you think looks the coolest, and stick it on the wall. Don't try to box it in, though. They will get pretty darn hot without ventilation.

Yep, though I'd buy solid wood as it will look nicer and be stronger. They have a scrap bin at most home improvement stores.

I built a "media center" shelf for my Sony tuner which sits above one of the doors. I can access all of the controls without a ladder. Also the wifi router will be placed there as well. I bought a powered subwoofer as an impulse purchase but it has turned out to be a very good one, really helps fill in the large space.

if you want to hang from the ceiling, like I did for my security camera setup (mounted next to the tv in the soffit), you can make a plywood box and hang it from the rafters...

what model denon? I am looking for the remote for an AVR-1312 AV surround receiver which is pretty useless without one...

As everyone says it's pretty easy to just buy brackets and a shelf. One thing I ran in to when moving mine from the bench to a shelf is that it's deeper than most standard shelving.
I ended up going with 12" melamine shelving above my workbench and the feet of the receiver just barely fit without hanging over...

When I had mine mounted to the wall, I used a 19" server rack shelf turned around backwards. Screw the rack ears to the wall, and you have a nice metal platform.

Clearly the lil cheap brackets will work, but I like to play. These are two in my last garage. Thinking about something along these lines (obviously smaller), just didn't know if anyone else had any better design ideas.

I'll have to check on the model number tonight. I got a Yamaha when we moved, so the Denon needs to find a spot in the garage asap. If it's in place in the garage, I figure, when the man cave is done, I'll have a good excuse to buy another.

Thinking about mounting above the obnoxiously yellow Dewalt box (red box in the corner). It'd be out of the way.
Thinking I could then just run the speaker wires up the corner.

I actually put mine up earlier this week. Just a couple brackets and some plywood scrap. I put a quad outlet up near it that runs the receiver and bluetooth dongle and then tied the outlets to a lower switch near the lights.

Now I just flip the switch and the receiver and bluetooth turns on and my phone auto connects via bluetooth. I don't listen to AM/FM so I stream everything off my phone and only need to adjust the volume on the receiver.

Exactly what I did, 3/4" thick plywood large enough for surround AMP and placed it above my work bench(center of wall of garage) and put a speaker in each corner of 28x30 garage. center channel speaker on top or next to amp. set the amp to all stereo a voila, a garage full of sound. Build small corner shelves for speakers.

I have the old dorm style huge stereo speakers in my garage and what I bought was a small Bluetooth amplifier to both power them and to receive the Bluetooth signal from my iPhone. When the amp is on, I can send any of my music to it and play it. Or if someone else is there in the garage with me, they can connect to the Bluetooth amp and play their music too.

The small amp cost about $30 bucks off of Amazon.

The beer and the resting NHRA Koozie (air regulator grip? Why are they always so stiff?) keep me coming back to The Garage Journal.

Here is mine. The receiver is under the cabinet and I use Roku to stream music from Pandora on the tv screen. There is also an Ipod under the tv screen that contains 1500 songs that I converted from my old vinyl collection.

Yeah, my daughter got me that sign....most of my empty wall space is beer signs and tackers....
The funny thing is I really don't drink that much but when I do, it's good beer.

Some angle iron ,plywood ,wire cable and fittings. I didn't want the brackets in the way.
