Anyone ever seen one? Their website doesn't give much detail on the guts, but some good info on types of ss. Are they really that good?

Steritool makes great stuff but it's meant for very specialized applications and was rather expensive last time I ordered from them.

Looks like a clear handled Craftsman screwdriver dipped in SS ha!

(I would still love one even if the ergonomics are terrible)

Sweet looking tools and very high, I have some omega 3/8 swivels that were $100 each and some swivel sockets same price I bought them cheap but wow stuff can be high for special purpose tools or air craft.

'good' in what sense?

Stainless steel tools are, in general, vastly inferior to tools made from conventional tool steels- stainless steels just aren't as hard or strong, and they gall. This means that they cant be used as hard and even when taken care of, they aren't very durable.

If you're assuming they are 'good' because they are expensive, well.. the cost of these tools is based on the fact that they have similar production costs to a regular ratchet or whatever, but sell to a MUCH smaller market. So they have to charge more.

These exist because in very specific scenarios (clean rooms, sterile manufacturing, etc) tools which produce no particulate, cannot harbor bacteria, and can survive autoclave sterilization are required. If you don't work in those environments, then these tools are not only completely unnecessary- they will perform significantly worse than normal tools that cost a LOT less.

The average guy need not spend this kind of money for such a specialized tool.Stainless steel is for lab type environment.
