I was given a bunch of tools to sell for a guy I know who it losing some of his storage space. I'm selling it locally on craigslist and FB marketplace, and I can find examples of most of these things to help me on pricing.

And... I searched the web and can't find another one of these... Have any of you ever seen or used one of these? What should I list it for? It works... and I only have a small compressor, so it will only run for a bit.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts...
Steve

Sterling was purchased in 1949 by Porter Cable, who continued their three designs ( although the sander that became known as the 105 was a dog, and didn't survive long). The 1000 was the electric powered sander, and was arguably the most heavy duty finishing sander ever made. The air sanders were not as popular, mainly due to the high air demand.
I can't say that I've seen a Sterling badged air sander for sale, but I doubt you'll get more than 20.00 or 30.00 for it; air tools of that age don't seem to have an audience.

Wow! Thank you so much for the information. I'm not too worried about getting top $ for any of the stuff... it's a snap on vacuum gauge, something called an ES 1200 Alternator ripple and voltage tester (no clue what that is, other than an alternator tester ; ), a bunch of well used air chisels, and some other stuff like that... I'll sell it for whatever I can get, and split the $, so it's all a win for me.

Thank you again!
