Sterling makes a good product. As far as venting goes assuming you can take the "B" vent out through the roof it will need to extend 2 feet above the highest point within a 10 foot radius. Also depending upon the size it will require a combustion air source. Typically 1sq inch per 1000 BTU's. Something people miss which can lead to CO poisoning.

OP . . . . another option might be Beacon Morris which is private label Sterling sold at Menards.

You have a Menards in your area ??

Top brands are:
. . . Reznor (UDAP or UDAS model - - - the "S" model has Separate Combustion)
. . . Modine Hot Dawg
. . . Sterling Garage Guy
. . . Beacon Morris (at Menards this is private label Sterling)

Next tier are more affordable like
. . . Mr Heater Big Maxx

Lots of GJer's have the Big Maxx and happy with it. Available at Northern Tool at $399 for 50K Btu and likely get discount coupon for lower price at RetailMeNot.com

I can get sterling or BM for under $600 45k btu ng and they both are separate combustion
And modine will run me $930 for separate combustion
I don't know anything about sterli or BM but don't really want to pay $930 for modine

Menards had BM 45k btu for around $450 plus tax
And sterling on sale $588 free shipping
Standard modine $598 shipped not separate combustion model.
Witch would be best to get?

Be sure to check the price of the vent kit if you plan to purchase one. I was considering Menard's 80,000btu Big Maxx for $479 plus shipping. The 4" vent kit was an extra $350. Twice the cost of a 3" inch required by the 45K unit.....Does anyone know if there are less expensive vent kits available that would work?

You can piece together your own venting from any number of online or local sources. Why buy a kit that may or may not work for your situation or may have pieces you don't need/use?
