I bought this Stewart Warner Alemite compressor a couple of years ago. It was manufactured in 1973 and has a Curtis compressor unit with a 1 1/2 hp Marathon motor. I have it set to pump 175# and it takes about 16 minutes to fully charge. I am wondering is that is correct, or should I consider doing a refurbishment of the compressor unit. Also, I have read where a larger motor or pulley will make the compressor run faster and charge faster. I would like to keep it stock. It is very quiet and seems like a keeper. I have read nothing but positive reviews on Curtis compressors. I called Curtis right after I bought it and they were of no help because of the age of it.
