So people keep giving me ideas so I keep asking on here:lol:

I got a quote for a stick built garage vs a pole building and I got roughly the same cost in lumber. The siding is also roughly the same.

With that said Im looking into prefab stick built kits. Basically where they bring in already assembled walls and you just line it up, bolt it down and install the trusses.

With that I keep running into the prefab garages with wood floors which I do not want. They are built like a pre fab house.

I live in Indiana and want to explore this but can not find any good sites.

24x24 - will probably build it myself

Instead of paying for prefab and freight hire two framers and have the thing up in a couple of days.
I built a 24x24 at my house and had the lumber droped at about 9am and had three walls up by 2pm by myself.
Before my company started doing steel buildings we did wood framed garages. For a building this size with the slab in place we would start on Monday and you could move your stuff in on Saturday. That would be unfinished inside.
I think it would be worthwhile to check out hiring some of the work out especially if work is slow in your area.
It kind of comes down to if you want to spend time building a garage or using a finished garage.

see if there is a Carter Lumber near you.

My neighbor bought a pkg from them many years ago and it was priced right.

If I remember correctly the package came with everything wood, nails, shingles, doors... plans... everything but the slab to build it on

I can finish the inside, its just the framing I hate.

wow Carter lumber is cheap. I can get everything I want for under $5k not installed.

My neighbor hired out his work for $1500 and that was a 30x60 shop! So I could probably get the same guys for under $1k.

Wonder what concret will cost.

See if you have a truss company or manufacturing company close. I got a quote from a local place here for prefab walls, half storage and half scissor trusses, all the sheeting, wrap, felt paper, man door, basically everything except shingles, siding, and the garage door, 6700 + tax, also delivered. This is for a 30x32 garage. Doesn't include foundation/footer either. I figure I'll have about 4000 into my foundation. I'm doing as much as I can by myself, but it's easier for me to sign up for overtime on weekends to make extra money, than it is to take the weekends off in the summer and work on this garage all summer long.
