I've been lurking for awhile and can't believe how helpful all your information has been, thanks a million!

Now for the question, I used epoxy-coat on a new unsealed concrete floor and it worked and looks perfect except for the first section I coated. It's a 10x12 section and will still reveal a finger print after a week and three day's. I know what I did, I failed to put enough hardener in the first batch due to paralax (sp) on the dip stick line. Will this section still cure to full strength? I called epoxy-coat and they think it will and have seen some floors take 2 weeks to fully cure. I'm thinking of scraping it off with a wallpaper scraper and MEK sanding the edges with 100 grit on the other sections or the floor and recoating.

Thank again for any input. :bowdown:

I talked to them about scraping and recoating. Use MEK to soften and scrap it off sand the edges of the good floor and recoat, no need to etch the surface again. They basically said to wait a full two weeks on this floor, but I'm worried about it's long term strength and look.

A few sections of my original application did the same. I blamed it on temp/humidity or a partially unbalanced mix. Mine took several weeks for that section to fully harden, but when it finally did harden, it was just fine. Just my opinion, but waiting a few weeks is MUCH easier than removing and re-coating. I'd wait.

Thanks for the info and support. I've been waiting, so I guess I'll wait some more. I'll keep you posted. It really looks great otherwise, and I would recommend this product to all. The company support has been fantastic.:bounce:

Update,

Still tacky, but coming along. In hind site I would have bought extra part B (hardener) and made the batches a little hotter so it would have cured quicker.

Thanks for the support.

That might work, up to a point. Past a certain ratio of resin to hardener the strength and durability of the finished coating will suffer.

The manufacturer no doubt sends out the correct amount of each, unless they direct otherwise it's best to follow their directions to a "t".

Your correct, I just wanted it to cured a little faster. I'll try to post pics soon.

The clear coat might be a good option.;

what does the manufacturer say about the structural integrity of the epoxy ? Would putting clear over it improve it ?

They do not recommend a clear coat, but it might advance the curing. I'm still holding out for a regular cure, as instructed by epoxy-coat. I'm pretty sure I could drive on it now without any problem. Just waiting extra long for the cure since I'm not in a rush to get the cars in the garage. The insulation is going in next week. I'll keep you posted on the cure.

By the way I'm very happy with the product and customer support from epoxy-coat!:thumbup:
