It was researching garage floors that led me to GJ....and the resulting time sink...
Many thanks to all the input I've received over the years.....hard to put a price on it.
Anyway....one of the issues this section solved for me was what floor to do....which for now was just concrete sealer until I figured out what I really wanted. All those horror stories about cheap epoxies scared me off.
Maybe we should have a sticky that describes the basics (and pro/cons) of each type?
Each has advantages....
This is what I've learned so far....
Epoxy....done right....looks great...can last for years...easy to care for
Race Deck....looks cool....but...I worry it would be hard to keep clean...stuff falling between the cracks....resistance to weld lag...etc
Tile...looks cool...can really hide a lot of floor defects....but might be slippery....tiles could break if you drop something heavy on it...etc.
Is this something we could do? I'm sure it would help a lot of the new guys navigating this section.
Oh....one last thing....I'm impressed at how helpful the different flooring vendors have been to posters...Yea, I know you're also pushing your product....but your patience in helping people is commendable.

I'm moving in my new home next Friday pending the final walk through and Certificate of Occupancy from the County. It will be a day or so before I post up my before and after using Legacy DeltaDye and SEC Sealer.
