I need a 1/4" rim sprocket for my chainsaw.

Can't seem to find one.

Can anyone suggest an online vendor for old Stihl parts?

It can be hard to locate Stihl replacement parts over the internet because Stihl keeps pretty tight control over their distributors. They don't allow them to advertise prices on Stihl equipment or parts over the internet. They also don't publish parts diagrams as far as I know. That makes it hard to find part numbers to search for. But some places do sell aftermarket parts. Mostly common items such as filters, primer bulbs and such. One place I buy stuff at has some Stihl parts but I don't know if they will have what you need.

Ebay.

There's huge amount of Stihl parts on Ebay because Stihl Corp. does not allow internet sales from it's dealers.

Any legit dealer selling on eBay can loose their right to a dealership from my understanding too. Stihl is very protective of their product and the customer experience.
I think the bigger issue is the saw in question is old enough Stihl will be making parts obsolete now.

Yes, and it results in a terrible customer experience:

1. Hunt down B&M Stihl dealer during their business hours
2. Order the parts and prepay
3. Go back to the B&M dealer to pick up the parts you ordered

Stihl needs to enter the 21st century and embrace the internet.

Sawsalvage.com is another good one.. He might have a used sprocket rim for you.

Otherwise you need to visit your local dealer.

Finding parts for my 015 is a nightmare. Lots of stuff is obsolete, and local dealer parts guys could care less about looking up parts for anything made pre-y2k.
When I needed a carb kit, they told me it was NLA. They are a available, from Stihl, and a bunch of other places too.

Do you have the stihl 015 av? I have one that is in really nice shape minus a carb that needs a overhaul. I bought it from the original owner who put very few hours on it. Original bar and chain.
