Hello,
I have a question in regards to a Stihl BG 55 blower I have. I noticed it had a metal rattling sound on idle and when you rev it up. I rev all the way up; wide open. After a little while I quit hearing the noise. Cut the blower off when he was done with it. Needed to do a little more work so I picked it up and it cranked right off the bat then all of a sudden, it died.
I done a crankcase flush and there was a little metal debris in it. I just tried to crank it and it wouldn't crank after alot of pulling. The spark arrest screw is clean, but I took it out anyway to see what would happen. I pulled the rope a couple of times and it started but when I tried to give it gas to continue running it quit.
I noticed when I took the muffler off earlier, that the gasket between the muffler and exhaust was a little ship away on both sides of the screw. Also, there was a little rubber material on the other side of the screw but I guess it burned off? Any ideas why won't stay running? Air leak? Thank you.
