Hi everyone, I've got a Stihl br600 that I replaced the primer on because the one on their was original and weak. Now in order for the blower to run I have to continuously pump the primer bulb. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. Happy 4th of July

definitely carburation . running lean, could be a bad gasket, plugged fuel line. stuck needle & seat or multiple other things .
did you remove anything to put the new bulb in ? how are the hoses , look for cracked or loose fit

I as well think its possibly the fuel pump diaphragm on the bottom of the carb, If I recall correctly there is two of them. The primer isn't really a primer, it more of a purge that operates the pump diaphragm and excess goes back to the carb. If any of the lines have a leak and is sucking air it could do the same thing.

There are two filters and two hoses in the tank and one from the tank to the carb in addition to the purge lines. I would replace them all.

It wasn't running when I got it. It didn't have any compression. One of the rocker arms had come off the push rod. Somehow one of the tabs on the rocker arm had broke off or something and was replaced with a folded over piece of a pop can. So did the crank seals. I did a leak down test on the carb because it appeared gas had been spraying out but it held pressure for an hour. I will replace the other fuel lines and check the diaphragm. Try looking up "Chickanic" on YouTube. She shows step by step how to fix lots of small engines, she owns a small engine shop. Her videos have helped me out a few times.

Could that piece of pop can be an old feeler gauge accidentally left in there? An aluminum can makes an acceptable feeler for Stihl 4-Mix valve backlash adjustment.

I also would have suspected the diaphragm. I'm assuming you've also cleaned or replaced the air filter? My dealer always tells me that blowers in particular can run in very dusty conditions and they are notorious for having plugged up air filters, but it sounds like your blower has seen a lot of use, and maybe it could be worn out?
