I am a Husky guy and have some questions on a Stihl MS211C. My father in law gave me an almost brand new one. He used it maybe for 5 minutes 5 years ago and put it away in its case. Is the fuel 50:1? Can I use my Husky Bar and Chain oil?

40:1 or 50:1 should be fine. I'd run a synthetic mix oil as well. Brand doesnt matter for either mix oil or bar & chain oil.

50:1...do yourself a favor and buy the Stihl synthetic oil for gas mix...or they now make quarts premixed that last two years in the can...

You don't mean bar and chain oil for the fuel mix do you?

I am sorry I wasn't clear. I would like to use my Husky 50:1 pre-mixed gas and Husky Bar and chain oil so I don't have to stock different gas and bar oil for each saw.

That's what I thought you meant, but wanted to be sure.

If it's a nice chainsaw, I'd be using the Stihl Ultra synthetic and some top tier premium fuel.

The bar oil should be fine. Stick with that high priced Stihl Premix, because if you ask if 40:1 or 50:1 is right, you shouldn't be doing iton yourown until you know more about your saw. Their gas, while pricey, is good for a couple years. Pump gas can't say that.

Plus, the Stihl gas is non-ethanol, which is CRITICAL to your saw's health.

I've built/rebuilt many saws and the only thing I'd say about oil is to NOT use Stihl Ultra full synthetic. The deposits it leaves is worse than a poor mineral oil made with bright stock. If you going to run 'Stih'l branded oil, use the semi synthetic HP that burns and combusts much better. Its also FD rated opposed to the FB rating of Ultra. Any ratio from 32:1-50:1 is fine provided you tune the carb to suit the ratio. You can use the bar on a small mount husky (K095) if you modify it slightly but in stock form they are not a match although similar as the slot is the same width. Better off running husky bars on hooskeys and Stihl bars on Stihls. Chain oil is fine to use in any saw. The 211 is a good homeowner saw, its the model I'd pick out of the homeowner grade saws.

That's the one I use. Stihl HP Ultra. They doubled my warranty period for buying a six-pack.

I run Stihl HP Ultra, Amsoil Saber and/or ECHO power blend...

Any FC/FD-rated oil at 50:1 will work fine for a 2-smoke saw. I use HP Ultra and Saber because I have some Stihl 4-mix machines. If I'm just running the saws, ECHO power blend is plenty fine for regular o'le 2 strokes.

Same for B&C oil... its all good, I get the ECHO stuff from HD.
