Something has changed...

I received my first Forum Notice in months today. Plus Gmail is no longer warning me that you are not certified.

Made some changes? Some fixes?

I dunno. Currently high as a kite on pain meds preparing for another spinal surgery. There is, however, a pretty competent guy working on some stuff right now.

As there isnt anymore confusion with posting with Ryan's account, especially when i make tests posts with gibberish in em, ill post with my account.

Technically its not fixed with the default vb files, after a lot of debugging etc, the issue lies with new cache code added to the digest php file in vb 3.8.11.

I've removed code & the system functions as normal, i manually ran the cron's this morning, was trying to resolve the new caching code over the weekend, along with a lot of other issues on the server.

This is most likely a bug in the new vb release, bug report made with vbulletin, so for now it will work until they release a fix.

Lets get on the phone today. I'm off morphine drip, but still on pills until Wednesday when I have my last surgery. BUT, I think I can talk to you and still remember it today. Just gotta do it when my wife isn't watching or she will kick my ***...

That may as well be Martian to me, but I don't care because I got my notifications this morning and I am a very happy boy. Thanks for your efforts.

Yes, standard email issues where fixed as well, which would explain gmail now reporting the site as valid.

Glad you got your subscribed emails.

Just for clarifacation, that would be AnthonyG, the Gentoo Geek ?

Also, if Ryan is off duty for awhile, Anthony, do you have any Moderator/Admin powers that you can see/reply/post in the Moderator section ? If you do, you might want to stop by and introduce yourself so the rest of the Mods realize who you are and what you're doing.

Ryan, sorry, but I am having the same issue. I was subscribed to well over 40 threads, and lost them all. The user, HOTFR8, sent me over to this forum to let you know. I created my own forum about it, https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=390596

I have been a member here since 2009, and have never had this happen to me before. Is there any way you can get all of the message boards I was subscribed to??
Thanks,
Rich

YAY! Well done sir!

Got mine this morning at 1:49AM! :bounce:

Inquiring minds want to know...what was the problem/solution?

Ryan/AnthonyG,

I am happy to re-confirm that I am receiving my forum notifications again every day. I consider the problem fixed, and for me the matter is closed.

Well Done Gentlemen!

Probably old que'd emails.

Me too.

Probably a test.

Nope, no testing was done, probably old que'd emails.

Was those emails dated for the same days, is there a date in the discriptions for said thread/post/forum?

I just went back and checked, they were all duplicate messages from the same day (yesterday 5-17-18).

I received the first notification emails (the usual, one for each subscribed forum) between 5:03 and 5:56PM. The duplicates were received at 6:45PM, a total of 9 emails (three for each forum I am subscribed to).

Let me know if you need any other information.

The dates you received the emails arent going to help, was there a date/day in the actual email itself?

Anthony,

I noticed that you cannot receive PMs, so I sent an email to Ryan's mailbox which contains the raw text of all nine of the extra emails received yesterday.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

Now I am receiving notifications for old subscriptions four or five days after the thread was last updated. Should I subscribe and unsubscribe again to stop these notifications? This notification issue continues to be very annoying.
