Still researching (or overthinking) epoxy floor

Ok...So I was just about ready to pull the trigger and order the Legacy HD garage floor system, but kept reading and researching flooring when ARMORPOXY announced their end of summer sale. 40% off is pretty damn enticing. So more research and now I'm stumped.

What are the major differences between the two? Well other than price. There is a sealer of some type on the concrete, as well as a few cracks, and numerous hairline cracks. do i need to worry about the hairline cracks? I plan to grind, then do crack and patch repair. The garage is about 450sf, would I hate myself for trying to grind it by hand with a 7 in diamabrush?

I know I want primer, base, light/medium chips, and a top coat. My garage wont see extremely heavy use, But will get used. I have a small fleet of dirt bikes, which will be the main use of the garage. No cars will ever be parked in there.

So, please, lets hear from some of the experts, as well as some of you guys that have used these products.

Dewey, I am sure the other vendors all sell a quality product. However, you should ask the 15 or so folks that called in at all hours of this labor day weekend for help with projects and find out if they got the technical help and/or hand-holding that they needed.

One just posted his nice white floor on the board this evening (he didn't need hand-holding).

thats one of the big reasons im still leaning towards your product. if it was stricktly money, id have gone with any number of other options. you seem very accessible, which is worth more than money. plus, your website seems a bit more user friendly, at least to me.

You have mentioned two companies that are active on the forum and I am sure you would get great results either way.

As far as pricing is concerned:

Forget discounts...

Look at total cost.

1. Can you get the larger grinder locally from THD, if not we are happy to lend our customers ours. They still need to get a buffer or sander, but we send out the tool. Once it comes back they get a refund less minor fees to cover shipping both directions.

2. Put a spec together and get quotes for that spec. Such as:

System to consist of WB Primer, 100% solids epoxy, ETC 450 Sq. Ft. @ 14 Mils (or 12 or 20 whatever you want). 5# Flake to be specified by end user. 2 coats 56% solids or better aliphatic urethane at 2 mil dft / coat. (depending on where you are we may need to modify this slightly. That is based on our 321 urethane and is just intended for an example. Anti Skid per manufacturers suggestions.

Have everyone bid the same system and request ORIGINAL data sheets for each product used, as well as MSDS. Several companies are advertising high solids as 100% solids for example .

3. Add to the above any accessories you need. I am always amazed at how much some of the crack fillers, joint fillers etc sell for.

Just a suggestion on the cracks. Take care of them first, make sure the fill is slightly prone to the surrounding floor and then grind. Otherwise I think you will need to regrind those areas.
