Hi All

Have been lurking around for a while but thought I would post up my shed build

I have a few acres out of town in Australia and the existing 6x9 shed was full of whiteants, no power and not big enough.

New shed will have power and a hoist, im sick of doing gearbox /engine out on my back and running of an extension lead.

The shed will be 12x12 with a 6m carport, it has a 4.2m eve height. I am on a budget so am doing most of the work myself except for concrete finishing,

My old shed

First thing to do was make way for the new shed so I knocked the old shed over 99c52fc0003a5d9e1c1ec2706afc70ae.jpgc2446d399173019e33206f625ba07699.jpg

Awesome! You can't be too far from me I guess, I want to build a shed about that size myself. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

The shed frame was pulled down by my dad many years ago. Dad didn't label or take measurements. Lucky the old slab was still on the property it was removed from to get bolt n slab sizing. I wire wheeled an repainted the frame.61a869bf2c6b00de3676162c6ac206de.jpg

I bought mostly new Perlins. I wasn't exactly sure on wind bracing so did every bay. Safety first on my site

It had taken me a couple of months to get to this stage. A kit shed would of probably been cheaper and quicker but the frame on this one is pretty sturdy. I originally planned to reuse the original sheeting but after sitting for many years I wasn't in the best shape. It's about now the budget started blowing out and i started to think I had bit of more than I could chew. I coughed up and got new trimdek sheeting and started installing by myself. I bolted a board to the slab to sit the sheets on. This was slow going but it was starting to take shape.e0a4270a724f30c77b33b75949a39d3d.jpg4c3209b84f58c7478f9c9f7edb3b6c57.jpgcc27fc93ab3b749fe839751783453a88.jpg80a906b5efa4f0279bbec2736119628c.jpg

I'm about 4 months into the build by now. Well over budget and living #shedlife. Every weekend on the shed. A mate gave me a hand to get the roof on. b0d2dc8e80366537214b7fb38da65dd7.jpg8e4b3dfde3dbee1821e726838eced3db.jpg

I kept poking along doing gutters. Ridge cap barge etc. I was happy to be able to park my cars under cover again.

I decided to go with 2 4.2 x 3.6 roller doors. The original shed had s big slider so I knock up the door frames918b02c9a8129cd8508bbbbcb8f804a7.jpg98db6d295d66a8c52bbac6f168195960.jpg0b44924b501624d8df3c70ac5deedaf3.jpg1aefc4ab9716d0cabbb5f07eb2cce2a4.jpgba8bee1467a4dfc240426ee63276e7e0.jpg

Sheeting of the front of the shed was next followed by roller doors. I got a contractor to do this. Poor decision as tgey did a pathetic job and had to redo them

Only working weekends. Having a new baby had stretched the build time out to 8 months at this stage.37b7548d5cfe4089ac7f709feb185ed6.jpg5e40247a137ba2f98f8bd1dba8887a96.jpga45d2da950dd4c6a4fecb58bb6f47477.jpg043a90a44a5f404fc448e615e1b0c1c8.jpg

Shed was wired at this stage. Went with 150w led high bays that are awesome. 4 in the 12x12 section 1 in the 12 x 6 car port.2d6a428662939eef05c1ec85c597754a.jpg

My son's first birthday was fast approaching and the push was on the get it finished for the party. The budget had blow out so much by now, I decided I should bight the bullet and concrete the carport that I had originally planned to seal.

Got it done and it was good to have a combined shed nearly compete and my son's birthday. Stated getting some benches and gear into the shed. I had planned to epoxy the floor but theme weather had beaten me and it's now a tad cold.

10 months on and the shed has filled with junk. With summer I decided to epoxy the floor. I wish I did this before moving everything in, spilling oil etc. Shed emptied. Decreased. Acid washed and epoxied I used Wattly c.f. 602 epoxy. Came up pretty good.
