I know there's been a few threads about hand soap before, but I switched over to this stuff a few months ago, and I wanted to say it is amazing what it will get off your hands in a hurry.

It has some grit in it - it says walnut shells. It works about 10X as fast as the old pumice stuff I had been using.

It's pretty expensive. I got mine through Tooltopia - 2 liter (little more than 1/2 gallon) kit with a dispenser for something like $30.

I'm very happy to have found it.

My father ran a sign shop in the 80's and 90's, and we used a Stokomat filled with Stoko Kresto to remove dried paint from our hands. It worked really well, but took off the skin if you used it more than 1-2 times a day. We ended up using kerosene a lot, then the Stoko as a final scrub before heading home... it's amazing I don't have cancer yet, considering how many chemicals I was exposed to as a child.

did you use Kresto or their other product Cupran which is special for removing paint?

I think they also make a bunch of specialty soaps for removing specific chemicals from your hands. The reason I ask is that I've used it several times a day and not had any problems yet.

If you use Cupran or Kresto - they are both tested so they won't irritate your skin. I've used both on and off for years and have never had a problem - @sharkytm - I don't think it was the hand cleaner that irritated your skin - it was whatever chemical you were exposed to that was doing it. Using kerosene is probably the worst thing you can do cuz' it not only irritates your skin, but gets into your bloodstream. . .

Cupran is the **** for taking paint off. Takes off dried urethane like nothing.

Stoko is great stuff and pretty safe to use, solvent free

If you have dry hands from exposure to chemicals, buy Stokolan. It is the best hand cream I have ever used.

Cupran dries your skin out like crazy too. Works Great. At work we go thru the Kresto by the case loads. No telling how many pallets of it they buy a year.

Cupran does dry you out but when you have one hand way blacker than the other (respirator yes, gloves never when I'm spraying, somehow something extra always gets painted) its the only thing I've found that'll make it the original shade again.

Cupran is great stuff, but don't leave the tube standing in the soap dish of a plastic shower. It will eat a hole into it. Ask me how I know. Bill

I have been using Kresto for 15 plus years. It is the BOMB.

Years ago I was a buyer at a large automotive parts warehouse. I got MANY free samples of various hand cleaners. I tried them ALL. NONE of them, I repeat, NON OF THEM, worked as well as Kresto.

Funny thing was I could get all the free Gojo, Permatex, etc, hand cleaner I wanted but I actually had to BUY Kresto because we didn't carry it. I didn't mind because it was just that good.

It has my vote !
