Not sure if this is the most appropriate forum, but it seemed the best.

We had our mobile tool kit stolen out of our building at work in Topeka (BNSF Railway). Suspect someone at our workplace, but it could be one of more than 1000 people. They had to know where to find it. Our shop is gated with security guards, and only a handful of people outside of our department have access to the building it was taken from.

Pelican 0450 mechanics case with custom cut foam drawer liners. Noticed it was missing today when I came back from a week on the road. Last seen Friday the 16th. Snap On wrenches, ratchets, hammers, ratcheting screwdrive, impact sockets, including Dewalt drill and driver.

Saw there was a CL ad in KC for the same type case that was updated one week ago, the day after it could have gone missing. No response from the seller yet

It killed us today not having that kit. Had to piece stuff together from various places.

If anyone knows anything, please contact me off list or contact BNSF Police.

Thieves deserve a beating period. My brother and his buddy went hunting one time, and his bud parked out in the front of my brothers house. or return as they drove down my bro's street my brother noticed someone sitting in the driver seat as they aproached the house. They realized he was going to steal it. As they got close his buddy jumped out and ran to the passenger side. My brother parked right against the driver door. H hadn't gotten it hot wired yet. They drug this scumbag out the passenger side and both proceeded to beat the living **** out of this POS. BEFORE calling the cops. When the cops came they asked what happend to him. They told the truth. Cops said, so he put up a fight right, Ok, no worries. He's caught. No trouble came of it. He got what he deserved PERIOD. JUSTICE was served.

Hutchinson, Parsons, Topeka, Pittsburg, Great Bend, & Kansas City all have extremely high property crime rates compared to the rest of Kansas.

Sorry to hear that. My house was broken into few years back and it is the worst way on can violate someone. They took my kids video game systems some cheap Jewelry and some other stuff. Thieves are the worst of human beings that like to steal that others have worked for. Scumbs. Almost all the houses on our street were broken in to in months time. It was a 16 year old ******* that was doing it. Got caught red handed by the police at one of our neighbors house and he was back home in 2 days.

I'm in kc. I will keep an eye out for your snap on stuff. Especially if it's in a pelican case. Next time you see that on craigslist take a screenshot I bet you could get the police to go from there

Any engraving or identifying markings on the tools?

One of my dutys at work is to electric engrave the company's initials and which department the tool belongs in. It seems to have helped, although a 20v DeWalt cordless drill just disappeared a couple days after I'd engraved it.

Thanks guys. The case had markings for our company and department on it, but the tools did not. I've got our police department involved, so hopefully they can get some leads.

I read that alot of areas of the US have a higher crime rate than the Bronx

For your enjoyment

Thief in the area tried to rob an Albanian woman about a week ago.

His body was found yesterday

I hate to hear about tools geting stolen. The only time i was in Topeka was years ago to pick up some stuff from a RR auction that my boss had bought. The way i went took me close to a bank and some one had just held it up. The robbers were still in side the bank haveing taken hostages. I went a diffrent way leaveing town. I dont remember what RR shop it was that was over 20 years ago.
