Hello
I am considering using Stonclad UR for my new garage floor.
Has anyone used this recently?
How will it hold up in a working garage?

I believe this is a urethane and not an epoxy. As this can be done outdoors.
Does anyone know of the real cost of it or where to buy it? I have on place to get it it.

My floor 32x42

Thank you
Brian

To our knowledge Stonhard only sells installed products and are VERY expensive and they don't just sell materials. If you inquire to them, they need to send out a factory sales rep who earns commission, and then if you give them a job, they will only have it installed by one of their network of installers, but you pay Stonhard. Stonhard is owned now by the parent company of Rustoleum. To our knowledge we have never seen it used in a residential application, they normally focus on labs, pharma, large auto facilities, plants and factories.

We carry a comparable product, our ArmorUltra Urethane Mortar Slurry which also is a 4 component product. It usually gets topcoated with a Novalac topcoat which is used in acid/chemical resistant situations like battery storage areas and plating facilities.

What you are looking at is a high performance product not normally used in garages unless there are issues with the floor. Materials alone run about $4.00 per sq ft.

Please email us for tech data sheets.

can you use that product without the mortar just a coat and sealer over the concrete?

Not this type of product that you mentioned.

Please contact us directly via email to indicate your particulars needs, any problems or issues with floor, intended usage and sq footage so we can recommend one of our systems.

Thank you.

Brota,

As a former Stonhard employee I'll tell you this floor is typically installed at 3/16" thick which is far more than you need in a garage. It's designed to handle heavy pallet jack or light fork lift traffic and also thermal stresses.

If you want to see the Stonhard system they would recommend for a lighty duty application such as a home garage look at their Tectop UF system. It's an epoxy base coat with flakes and a clear urethane sealer.
