Thought we would share this since it was an interesting project to show GJ members.
Our Prep Crete Install Division www.prep-crete.com was contracted to remove the coating and recoat a high end NYC building mechanical room.
Upon removing the coating water started coming in from the edge from a leaking sump tank on adjoining room and filling the room with almost a foot of water. We obviously had to stop the water.
We came up with the solution of drilling into the floor at 45 degree angle, installing injection ports every 8" and injecting German KOSTER Brand Barrier Gel into the floor under high pressure so it wicks into the voids. When the gel hits water it solidifies and creates a barrier permanently inside the concrete. Not a DIY thing as the machine to inject costs over $15,000 and requires special certification to use and requires a 25 cfm air compressor to power the injector.
The ports shown get grinded off, and the floor will be coated with a urethane mortar and topcoat.
Problem solved and Customer happy.
