Looking for cabinets that are just white and tall for wall cabinet run for storage. Anyone have a low cost way of doing this? Just want one run of cabinets all tall cabs and a sink base possibly.
The best no cost way is to cruise 10-15 year old neighborhoods that are undergoing remodels. I've seen so many kitchen and bathroom cabinets sitting on the curb it isn't funny. People are nuts. I've seen them rip out perfectly good cabinets because the little lady doesn't want "those outdated colors anymore" And the cabinets are still like new but the finish isn't popular and trendy now. Remember oak? Whitewashed oak? Yeah, can you imagine the horror of living in a house with those? :Shudder [sarcasm off]
Look, find you something like that. You can paint those suckers white.
The best low cost way is to look on CL or FB marketplace. Some people are somewhat fiscally responsible and try to recover some cash by selling them cheap.
I once bought a nice Jenn Air double oven that way. The dudes wife just had to have new cabinets and stainless appliances. He had all the old stuff for sale. I gave him maybe a $100 for the double oven. It was like new. He told me his wife didn't even cook!
I took a bunch of old cabinets from a kitchen remodel that the boxes were shot as they were particle board, made new plywood boxes and used the perfect face frames and doors, made the boxes 16 inches deep to fit my needs. Low cost and perfect for my needs, and a coat of paint covered any scratches on the faces.
Frameless wall cabinets are a fairly straightforward and could be made fairly cheaply using construction grade plywood. May not be pretty, but would be plenty strong.
