Im surprised no one has posted about this stuff: EZStudRack for mounting shelves between studs of an unfinished garage wall, and sticking out if desired.
What are the downsides for use of this stuff? Anybody using it? Any alternatives out there that address #2?
I can only think of these:
1. Freezing of liquids in an uninsulated garage (not much of a concern for me in middle GA).
2. It only seems to come in nominal 1ft long lengths. I would prefer 3ft or 6ft.
3. It would require more wall area to store the same stuff as a deeper free-standing shelf.
It would be shallow shelving but I might consider this a good thing so stuff doesn't get lost behind.
I am thinking of using this to replace free standing shelves along the side of vehicle area and in a high bay where an RV would be parked to allow plenty of space for entry/exit, accessing the sides for cleaning, etc.
