Anyone got one or more of these? or something similar?

Just wondering the pros and cons of something like this?

Cost is a bit prohibitive but I was thinking if a guy could get a decent deal on that bins and track system or shelf system you could build the cabinet to fit? I really like the idea of the removable bin.

I like it. The small trays on the doors would be a bear to pick parts from like small nuts/screws .... unless one had those real skinny, short fingers. I had the same bins for years and I just mounted the bin rails to my plywood walls. The cabinet is going to raise the cost of storage a lot, but will keep a lot of dust out of the bins. JMO

I'm not entirely sure how those bins attach to the cabinet but Jack Olsen retrofitted an existing cabinet to do the same:

You can find used storage cabinets for decent prices so I imagine you could do a similar retrofit. I'm just not sure how much weight the doors would handle - Jack's setup is with a stronghold cabinet which could probably hang hundreds of pounds off the doors since they're so beefy.

I have thought about getting one for quite some time now, but so far I haven't done it. I have so many things (nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc) that I would like to put into one area rather than have so many individual parts boxes to put stuff like I do now. I guess I am looking for just the right storage bin cabinet, hopefully I will find it before too long.

I was going to use a set up very similar to you but I came across a bunch of metal bins for a decent price, I ended up buying the whole lot. I was unloading all of them and the wife saw....now I need to move a few along to keep her happy. Wish you were closer.

Im sure it will but Im anti-shelving and pro-cabinets. Because then I can hide the mess. Shelves its just out in the open to see all the time :(
im sure everyone has seen this but I like this idea aswell.

Look for these file card cabinets.

Usually less the 30 bucks at yard sales. I use the Harbor Freight grey bins to organize my nut and bolt assortment. I think I have 60 bucks invested in this cabinet including the casters.

This one cabinet holds everything from #8 to 5/8 inch bolts with room to expand. :)

Around here you're insanely lucky to find anything like that for that price. You basically have to be unemployed/retired and scouring craigslist and garage sales. "Market" value for that kinda thing in my area is $100-200 pretty consistently. I've been watching for them but finding a decent deal is few and far between. People must have come to find out useful they are!
