I am embarking on the restoration/reorganization of a detached garage (20’ wide by 23’ deep with 10’ ceilings and one oversized (12’ wide x 8’ high) door. My storage is mostly yard tools, ladders, snow blower, etc...

My Goal? A clean organized space to store a Bentley (If my I wife ever allows me to buy it). This garage is in addition to a 3 car garage attached to our home.

My Question? What suggestions do you have for storage cabinets that sit on the floor to hide all my rakes, shovels, supplies? Or should I simply buy a shed for the yard to keep landscaping stuff out of the garage to begin with?

My restoration will involve painting the walls and ceiling, epoxy the floors, and then adding storage solutions.

I am from the cars, motorcycles, tools and equipment for working on said vehicles goes in the garage camp.

Lawn tools, lawn tractors, kids bikes, wife's junk, belong in a shed.

It would be shameful to make your Bently share space with such common items.

And welcome to the GJ!

If you have the yard space, get a garden shed for the yard stuff.

If you buy cabinets buy from a company that has been around and is likely to stay in case you need more, if matching is important to you. Or have wood ones built into the side of your wall. The advantage of building is that you can go taller. The tallest pre made cabinets you are likely to find is 7’.

Old Bentley or newer?
