Picked this up on CL today. 14 gauge steel cabinet with two shelves. It's a little rough right now. Started sanding and cleaning tonight. Haven't yet decided on the "new" colors. My whole garage is grey (floors and walls) so I think I need to add a little color. I'm in TX so I might go with a Texaco theme.

Stay tuned...

Finished the cabinet. Decided on Red/Black. It's got a "10 ft paint job." Stuck a couple of Texaco decals on it. I'm happy with the result and it will provide some useful storage in the garage.

I don't post many "I'm jealous" posts but this is my first.

That is a beautiful cabinet and I'm jealous. Nice work and you had a lot of vision to get it to look like that.

Nice to see. I have a couple of random metal cabinets I have been given. They all look in rough shape and I want to start painting them soon, so seeing nice results here is inspiring.

How did you paint them? Rattle cans? Spray gun?

Thanks.

Thanks fellas for all the comments.

Andrews - I'm in Frisco. About 30 miles North of Dallas

Sudz - I used rattle cans. A sprayer would have given a better finish but I don't have a sprayer right now. The black went on nice but it took 3 coats for the red to cover the old gray.

Dan - found the stickers on eBay. Just searched for Texaco decals.
