Yes 4 containes. 40ft deep and 80ft wide with roof and front would be nice.

I priced it out a d was cheaper to go 50x80 for myself even with 2 shipping containers next to it for storage.

Even in Flagstaff, un-godly hot.
It would require both external shading and large venting.
Throw in insulating and heat for winter and a stick built would be close in $.

If moving is in the future, you do have an already packed trailer.

I just went thru this. I was going to take 3x 20ft shipping containers and space them out the width of 5 containers and cut the sides out and then weld them together to amke a single 20ftx 42ft shop. I ended up going with a pre-made building shipped from china that came with 3" insulated wall and roof panels.

The reason i chose the china route was the ability to have insulated wall/roof panels, the building looked much better in the end, and the price in the end was comparable or even cheaper than buying 3 20fters and cut them all up to just have to purchase framing materials and insulation.

Saw a guy in Louisville make a container shop. Coated the whole thing in spray foam insulation. Looked pretty goo, but narrow inside. Make sure the layout works for you!

About 10 years ago I half-a$$ed looked into it before I built my barn.

I was envisioning something similar to what denis4x4 has in his avatar. I think the cost of the containers alone was close to half of what I ended up paying for my 30x50 barn, labor and materials. Minus the floor and electrical of course.

I never ended up using the structural floor beams, floor purlins, or the red "fire proof" flooring they provided. That said i think i could have saved a few bucks by omitting those pieces.

The issue with this purchase that really hurts the affordability is the shipping and import tax on getting it to my house. Shipping alone was like to $2,500 from china to my door. I had to add the floors and two windows and a door to be able to classify it as a "prefabricated home" which only imparts a 9% customs tax but if you customize it and do not include a floor, door, and windows then you get shafted with a 26% tax.... the door/windows that came with it are very poor quality and would not be used by anyone that you like to protect their belongings inside.
