In my workshop I currently have about 6 big box store 32 oz cans of chems.................alcohol, acetone, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, xylene, naphtha. The metal containers are rusting in places, the plastic tops have broken up, and the ones that work require a screwdriver to pry them open...PITA!

I would like to locate some 16 to 32 oz poly or glass containers that will hold these chems and allow for dispensing them (without a screwdriver) as well.

Suggestions will be appreciated.

I've used an occasional mason jars with solid / metal tops when I had nothing else. Just keep in mind that storing flammables in glass can be really bad news if one falls and breaks. You can also buy replacement metal cans if you keep the stuff for years. Exterior rust does mean you have a humidity or storage problem. I have metal cans in the shed that are 20 years old with no rust. If they rust on the inside I just replace the cans every few years.

Some of my metal cans have been relabeled to reflect their current contents, for example I use more paint thinner than I do Xylene. My current Xylene supply is stored in a repainted thinner can.
