storage for V belts

I just purchased 70 V belts (FHP) & need ideas on how to hang/storage them.
I have a small shop at home & wanted any idea.

Take a 2x4 or 2x6, drill 3/4" holes spaced every 8" or so at a slight angle. Then cut lengths of 3/4" wood dowel a foot long stick in the holes. Take complete assembly and lag bolt to your wall close to the ceiling.

Peg board, lag bolts, nail (spikes), dowels, long wood screws, threaded rod, even a piece of 1 x 1" wood to hang them. Use the imagination.....

Hang them high as you can, thats what my local gas station does

Where abouts in MA are you? Pretty sure I have some of that belt hanging boards like used in auto parts stores hanging around here, could give you a section.

454, I live in Worcester. I do a bunch of small engine repairs & had a chance to buy 70 FHP belts (gates) for $30.00 on ebay. I could not pass it up with the brand & assorted sizes.
I got some 2x4's and a box of 4 inch deck screws that I will never use (had for 9 years). Great & simple idea to hang the belts.

There are belt hangers, but most of my shop we just have 2x4's way up on the wall with large nails - almost spikes at an angle up slightly about 8 inches apart. Holds everything from small to my large chipper triple rib belts.

You'll find most of the belts you just bought won't fit anything you work on - especially if you work on Toro. toro designs all their equipment to use their own belts which are not standard and will not interchange (some will work but not for long).

So far IME it's better to buy the correct part number belts instead of trying to measure and match every time. Parts diagrams don't list belt dimensions, they list a part number. Very few machines that I've seen actually list/use a standard belt...and those are commercial rental units.

to hold them all together,I take an old long belt and run it through the center of all the belts then back through itself and hang from the free end

Will ozone in the air damage them over time?

got the belts. I got lucky & they are in great shape. Already used one for my air compressor. Too bad we don't have a "for sale" portion set up on the journal.
We can all sell stuff ( similar to ebay)
