I was contracted to make some seating for our library, over the years I have done a lot of furniture for the library.

Wood is red oak I bought from our local sawmill and kiln dried at my shop, nice to have a mill right down the road.

Seats were shaped on a CNC router.

Finish is Varathane floor finish been using it for years now, took a while to get a good spraying technique much different than solvent based finishes but it is just as tough.

Looks great. Nice to see some real cabinetry going in instead of flat pack, particle board junk.
All the furniture I made for the library is solid wood. Some large tables they got from another shop have particle board tops with the metal angle plates tying the legs so when they try to move them they bust the joint out, I have repaired two of the four they have. Mdf and particle board have their place for cheap wall cabinets not for stuff that gets moved around. I don't use it at all on my jobs.
