Hey guys, just wanted to share a link to these lil clear plastic cases I found on Temu which I bought to store my inspection mirrors in. For those of you who are like me and don't have a garage or shop to house a big tool chest, buying tools that don't come with their own storage can be annoying. And obviously inspection mirrors don't come in a case or anything so I did a bit of research and found some on Temu. Below are links to the 2 cases, the smaller one came in a pack of 5 and the larger ones are sold individually I think but I'm sure you can buy them in bulk too. All in all they were pretty cheap, I paid like $12.50 CAD shipped for the 5 pack of small cases plus the 2 larger ones.

The sizes of the cases can be found at the links below and If you have similar inspection mirrors and you want to see if they would fit in these cases too, here are the dimensions of my mirrors:

Small no name mirror:
  • Length: 6 5/8" (16.8–16.9 cm)
  • Width: 1 1/4" (3.15 cm)
  • Thickness: 0.39" (1 cm) at the highest point (pocket clip)

Ullman HTC-2:
  • Length: 9 5/8" (24.45 cm)
  • Width: 2 1/4" (5.72 cm)
  • Thickness: 0.565" (1.44 cm)

5pcs Transparent Plastic Long Oval Storage Box

1pc Rectangular flat storage box

I just fold a piece of cardboard and put a couple wraps of duck tape around it. Big enough for the round mirror only.
Not a bad idea. I'm big on stand alone storage. I don't need storage for everything but it really pisses me off that a lot of tools these days don't come with cases. It's to the point where I won't buy certain offerings because of it. I'm in the market for a good manual impact driver and there's this Vessel one on Amazon that I've heard good things about but since it doesn't come with a case I refuse to buy it.

I throw out most cases. Don't need it wasting space in my toolboxes.

I just keep mine dropped in a hole on one of my DIY screwdriver racks. It works and they don't take up any drawer or shelf space but they get filthy and I almost always have to clean them whenever I do need to use one.

Most people buying nice tools don't want cases for tools that fit into a toolbox drawer. given a choice, they'll buy the one that doesn't make them pay for a case they're going to throw away. Manufacturers have surely noticed that.

Put a dust cover on them. I use the little drawstring bags that come with random chinese stuff. Have them on magnifiers, mostly, but even a zip lock bag will work.

Yah I totally get that, if I had the space for a big tool chest I probably wouldn't need that many cases either but there are still items that need to be in cases no? Things like flaring tools, manual impact drivers, coolant pressure testers, etc. More so if we are talking small items I guess or things that work as a kit.

Sure, or stuff I don't use often or that is large. I throw that stuff on a shelf.
But little stuff or stuff I'm using constantly, no.

I'd need another 3 or 4 boxes if I kept it all in trays and cases... and I've already got 4 4fters
