Just googling....still finding some references in this day and age that says it's not good to store a modern battery on crete, or metal shelving. Does Porcelin tile ontop of crete/thinset apply:confused:

LOL. AFAIK, the don't store in on crete was of yesteryears battery case and not of modern batteries.

What's your take

Store 'em cold. I leave them in the garage in the winter. I used to hear a lot about bringing batteries into the house, and charging them every few weeks. Now I leave 'em cold, and charge them before and after the vehicle is in storage. Sometimes they don't need much charging after cold storage.

I have found that making sure they are charged and that the outside is clean makes more of a difference. If there is no conductive path between the terminals or to the surface it's resting on they have been fine. But that's just been my experiance.

I have always put them on a piece of 2x6 or other board. If they are in a vehicle and not connected to anything, a sheet of EDM rubber. I'm more worried about the acid eating what they are sitting on than the battery itself.

On the stuff I don't disconnect (OPE), if not the garage queen, I had quick connect leads on these.....most of these are AGM. I just do a charge once a month as they don't discharge much at all...

Due to weird electrical issues.....I happen to have another 95ah AGM battery. Fully charged - just wanted to leave it in the corner of the floor (which is porcelin tile- crete underlayment). I'm sure it's fine without a buffer material underneath
