I have miles of random tube, pipe, flat-stock, angle and misc metal that I need to get under control.

Any of you metal workers come up with a good storage system for your material.

Most of mine is 2'-5' long. Any longer, I usually cut it. If I need longer for a project, I buy it.

I'd love to see picts of what you have at home, or work.

Thanks

I have a 3 X 10 Ft lean to at the back of the garage loaded with tubes, angles, flats, etc. On the side is another lean to about 3 X 20 Ft with wood, old truck stuff, and a few bicycles. Have a few pails around the garage with shorter metal stock standing in them.

I had a load of leftover tubes and stuff, so I built a wall rack for it, out of leftover tubes and stuff, but when I'd finished I had nothing left to stack on the rack...... :headscrat

You can just see it at the back here, two box section uprights bolted to the wall with short pipe stubs sticking out to lay the pipes and stuff on.

for the shorter pieces i keep them standing up in a plastic 55gal drum
i made up some hangers out of scraps of 2" angle iron & 1" pipe.
lag screwed from both directions into the wall studs.

when i had my rented shop (and more space) i kept most of longer pieces about waist level, in my ( much smaller) garage i have one set of hangrs about 12" from the floor, wall space limited on that side of the garage
