i get a piece of 10in pvc 2 feet long, put both hooks on the ens and ratchet them tight. you can get 10 or so straps on a pipe. I use this for my truck tool box. It works better with bungie cords.

For the pvc described above. The flying leads i fold up neatly and tuck under the binder and ratchet them tight. It holds the strap to the pipe and loose end tight to the pipe also. Like i said its real slick with the black bungee cords. No more fumbling around rear dark strapping down you newest c list buy. It may take longer but i usually have time to unstrap but no time to strap so it works well for me.

hard to describe

think of this...
an overgrown bathroom towel bar

I use an old wood towel bar (China-mart for $7) and mounted it about 5' off the floor. The hooks fit perfectly and don't get tangled up. YMMV.

My version: 1/2" conduit, jammed into street ells, screwed into pipe flanges (only I could only find one the hardware stores were no help so I made one out of a washer...)

mine too cursed that ******* this morning :lol_hitti

I don't let the a$$hole into my garage. They are all hanging neatly like the picture of the towel rack. However, it seems the he has been storing the tie downs I keep in the trailer box and the back of my truck.

I have almost all 2" tiedowns, so my method may be different than those of you with the lighter 1" tiedowns.

Basically, I just roll them up with the hook in the center, and then use wire ties to close. Once rolled, they fit neatly into my road box or a basic storage container.

2 x 2 angle with series of holes drilled in one side. Mount to wall and insert hooks through holes. Similar to the towel bar method but I had the angle laying around.

This is very similar to my method, but I add in a few lengths of light rope, some truck straps and a few cargo nets, to really put some excitement in my life. ;)

I have about a dozen 2" and 15-20 1". I roll them up,put a couple wraps of electrical tape around them and put them in milk crates that are either in the bed of the truck,or in a rack in the front of the equipment trailer.I use the cheap tape that comes in a 5-pack at lowes.I also shoot the ratchet assenblys every 2-3 uses since they may be out in the weather on the trailer .

I have a 40 cal. ammo can, I keep my straps and bungees in. I took a 1/4x8 and made an T.:headscrat It keeps my straps separated from the bungees so I get just what I need. I also keep my spider web for the bed of my truck in there, too. You can store damn near anything in an ammo can...:shocking:

Just curious, doesn't the tape leave a stickey residue?

When bored, throw in a couple of sets of tire chains or metal spikes for putting under tires in the snow.

I threw away all my tie downs and replaced them with auto retractable tie downs. It was one of the best things I ever did. There are many versions out there but I like the Erickson version best. If you do a lot of work with strapping stuff down it's totally worth it, you just hit a button and bam they wind up. The storage issue is null. I used to work for my brother who delivers fitness equipment in the winter and constantly was frustrated with him because he wouldn't wind them up when he was done. So every job would start with an untangle section, so I did some research and bought him these. Now we get along better.

I roll them around the mechanism and make the last two wraps perpendicular, then slide the hook under the last two wraps and your done.

Same here, just add a spilled qt container of anti-sieze. Everything has a neat grey/silver camo look now.

I always start out organized but it always ends up at the end of the job or move that it's late and dark, so I throw them all together in this cluster **** of a ball.:willy_nil
