Hey all,

I am cleaning out the garage and infrequently used items are going in the shed. My welder and #4 bottle of c25 mix are going too. Is there any issue with storing it in an unheated space? The regulator is off and the cap is screwed on....

I am not sure what ingested space is but it will be ok stored in an unheated space. We store ours outside year round.

I use to work for Airgas. Storing cylinders outside is not an issue, short term or long term. Most of the customers store them outside, chained upright.

What type of welder? I'd think wire for a MIG would get rusty if not stored dry.

The gas wont be an issue, but yeah I agree you will have corrosion issues. The heat cycles from every day weather can and do cause corrosion inside the mig welder. To what extant sort of depend on the moisture in the shed. If you are leaving your wire in an unsealed environment that has heat cycles it will corrode.

You can always send your (full) tanks to me for winter storage.
I can't guarantee the remaining contents come springtime, though . . .

Nah, you will be fine. You may want to pull the wire spool as it might rust due to the large temp swings --> condensation and humidity. Of course if you need I could polish off that tank for you. Just to be nice of course. :D

Thanks for the info! I didn't think about bringing the roll of mig wire in. And Zkling, you would have to come to the dark side of town!
