Nice pliers.
Thanks!
I was hoping this thread wasn't going to be an obituary for well-known member stormking..!
Sorry for the fright. I was trying to be coy, but I didn't think about that. The title does have that RIP connotation. That, or banned!

Stormy is a funny case. He's been here since 2011, a year and a couple months longer than me, but has 311 total messages. THREE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN! Just goes to show, quality over quantity! :)

But on topic - how could I resist?! They were face down. I flipped them over and as soon as I saw the "STORM KING" marking, I'm like, "How much?" The vendor gives me a price and starts to give me his spin (I know and like the guy a lot and I would totally use the same spin if I was selling them...), 'Oh, I don't know. It's a very unusual marking. Who made them? Is it a reference to the mountain? the ferry?' and I'm like, "Dude, I'm on this site for crazy tools people, and this is his user name. I'm just buying them because it would be cool to send them to him." He's like, 'I'm calling B.S. on that,' so I pull my phone out, dial up GJ, search the site on username "stormking", find his most recent post (about some Snappy box), click on it, expand the avatar, and my man is like, 'WTF?' I win! :)

In the "just gotta ask" category: who made them?
Without a doubt Utica Drop Forge and Tool. "Storm King" really is a very famous area in upstate New York where everything is named that about 2-1/2 hours from Utica. I am pretty sure @stormking is from the PNW though, from recall, from stories and his tools predilections, so I have no idea about the derivation of his name. The pliers are fairly rare and I should probably hold onto them, but the offer stands. The funny thing is it will probably be next week or so when we hear from him.

Thanks, UNAIU!
But was hoping this was a nice dark imperial stout.
I can't drink stout any more, not even in the winter. The heaviest I will go theze days is a Hefeweizen. Just the look of all that malt makes me full! :)

But since you brought it up, it's unseasonably 92*F and I am sitting outside on my porch posting through the screen glare with 1 of these (the green one I did not take pictures of....) down, a few more to go, with Mrs. Lugz and 22YO DD#2 on their way to the Tay-Tay concert and nothing to do but soak up rays and talk to you guys. Lol. My son won't drink them because of the New England reference in the boozhy description, which he finds tin ear-ingly and stalwartly stupid of a Philly brewery. But as you can see my principles stop at free and available.

Sounds like you are getting what we got last week, and early bit of late summer. A very nice 82* here right now, so after a late afternoon run to an estate sale and the Restore, I too am having a frosty beverage. Japanese though.

Good find on the dykes. A class act.
