Hello, all!
My name is Wade and I live in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
I have been lurking here for years. I now have a problem that requires I start a thread of my own, so I decided to do the Introduction bit first in order to follow common practice here.
I am a freshly minted 50 year old fat guy who loves to work on his Jeeps. I also own a musical instrument repair shop and am an absolute stud with soft solder and an acetylene torch. (Soldering on brass instruments require almost perfect neatness. The buffer can only correct so much slop.)
I am a professional symphony orchestra musician, winning the national audition for my position in 1993. Prior to that I was in school polishing my skills as a player for five years on my GI Bill. For three years prior to that I was a member of the US Army Band of New York City at Ft. Hamilton in Brooklyn. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas.
My interests are reading, computers, writing, writing and arranging music for various ensembles, wrenching on my two Jeeps, and adding to my ever-expanding set of tools. I like working on our Honda and our Volvo, too, but a lot less so. The Jeeps are much more fun and allow for more creativity. The other vehicles are strictly remove, replace, repeat.
I hope to become friends with some of you and to learn a lot from my participation on this site. Hopefully I can share some of what I have learned over the past few decades with some of you as well.
Cheers!
Wade Rackley
