My old tired hands LOVE my GW x-beam ratchet wrenches. They are a real pleasure to use.
Now, I had a need for a 1 1/8 ratcheting wrench and bought a regular GW ratcheting wrench in that size and found I would love it to be an x-beam type.
Instead of spending more money on a new wrench, I've been wondering if I could just add a bit of heat to the center of the wrench and add my own twist.
I know it would ruin the finish but that's not really important to me. All I need to do is approximate the overall design of an x-beam wrench.
Anyone know if that sort of heating and twisting would significantly weaken the metal of the wrench?
